The issue is there is a patch for the HD Audio driver that has to be run on complete new install of the OS. (If you just do a a restore from the BIOS you don't need the patch. It is the Universal Audio Architecture from MS. KB888111. If you do a search of Lenovo site you will find three different versions (XP, XP SP1, XP SP2). off hand I do not have a link but you should be able to search for it on the site. I am having trouble finding the Vista Patch if there is one.
