ok quick guide to get the mod running with the unleashed release:

1) get http://uniextract.c1pher.com/uniextract15_noinst.rar or a similar tool to unpack nullsoft .exe installers.
2) with the tool, open the Portal:Prelude installer .exe
3) extract the stuff somewhere (will take a while)
4) copy the "portal prelude" dir (from where you extracted to) into your /portal/ installation folder
(the "portal prelude" dir must be located in the same dir as the hl2.exe)
5) create a shortcut to hl2.exe with the command line parameters -steam -game "Portal Prelude" (for example X:Portalportalhl2.exe -steam -game "Portal Prelude" ). The "" are required.
6) run the game with the shortcut
7) enjoy

sussed it, easy way, After extraction with zip7 change name of portal to prelude, then,

open note pad, type hl2.exe -steam -game prelude,

save as `prelude.bat`

use instead of start batch file from previous version
