I am trying desperately to configure a 1080p resolution. I am connecting the 
LED TV using the VGA connector (not hdmi - because vga is all that my aged 
HTPC can do at the moment).

I am usually a wiz at custom resolutions in Powerstrip, but this one is 
defeating me. Has anyone else tried this? Please can you post your

It could be because I am using an aged AGP 9200 Radeon card, however I have 
successfully achieved 1080i (using a different display) in the past.

Today I have been successful in creating a samsung resolution of 1440x900p, 
which looks delightful, but obviously not as good as 1080p. If you want to 
use these timings, do so at you own risk:

My main problem with 1080p is that when I switch to my custom resolution 
of1920x1080p, the desktop starts scrolling (and the physical screen 
resolution remains at 1440x960 or sometimes 1280x1024 - as indicated by the 
on-screen display).

I have created and installed my own monitor driver for the TV, which 
supports max resolutions higher than 1080p @ 60hz. And so I am at a loss as 
to why 1080p doesn't work properly.
