Manai, Rusijoje ar pas mus apendicito operacija nieko nekainuoja? Štai 
kiek dar 2014 m. (kaip žinia, po euro įvedimo viskas brangsta) ligonių 
kasos mokėjo ligoninėms http://www.lrt.lt/naujienos/ekonomika/4/33180 :
"Štai, pavyzdžiui, už apendicito operaciją mokama nuo 1900 iki 3300 Lt".
Kainos panašios ir Rusijoje, jei ne didesnės. Priedo, dar dažniausiai 
gydytojui į leteną duodi. O paslaugų kokybė, kaip matome, tarp Rusijos 
ir JAV truputį skiriasi, be to ir uždarbiai nesulyginami. Juk ir JAV 
beveik niekas iš savo kišenės už medicinos paslaugas nemoka tiesiogiai 
ligoninėms. Dauguma apsidraudę privačiose draudimo kompanijose, kaip ir 
mes mokame sveikatos draudimo mokesčius, kaip ir rusai. Dar yra 
valstybinė Medicare, o tuos, kurių pajamos per mažos, ten draudžia 
valstybinė kompanija Medicaid.
