For example, if the cardholder returned the airline tickets to the card acceptor or travel agency or the cardholder destroyed the airline tickets, the cardholder letter must state this fact. If the cardholder indicates that electronic tickets were purchased, no explanation of the disposition of the tickets is required. The issuer cannot charge back a transaction for message reason code 4859 until after the date the airline was to provide the flight(s), unless the airline has ceased providing flight services. Disposition of Airline Tickets.
