rimtai? The number of accidents with pedestrians by hitting them on pedestrian crossing has gone up by 20% - 20% more people died , 20% more were injured. There were also more accidents of giving the way for pedestrians (2045 of such type accidents in 2006 and 3098 in 2007 - also 50% more people died and were injured then the year before). Same thing with bikers - almost 40% more accidents and 40% more fatalities. This is not a problem of roads and behaviour on roads - the roads haven't signifficantly changed since 2006 and 2007 - the effects of lights mandatory are so horrible. If you know the problem - in 2006 in Poland has died 1802 pedestrians - in 2007 that was 1951 !! In the whole 2007 there was more fatal accidents + 340 people died than the year before (this is 6,5% more) also there was 2660 more crashes (+5,7%) and 4101 people more were injured (+6,9%). It could be nothing strange but from 1997 every year the road safety has been changing for better (from 7311 fatalities a year in 1997 to 5243 in 2006). Visibility of just cars in some conditions doesn't help to improve road safety. Try to understand that.
